Frequent asked Questions.
What is Paintless Dent Removal?
PDR
is a relatively new process of removing minor dents, dings and hail
damage from a vehicle without the use of bondo or the need of
repainting. The process requires a highly skilled technician to
gain access behind the dented area
with special PDR tools. The dent
is then meticulously
"massage" back to its original pre-dent condition without disturbing the original paint of the vehicle. The process may look simple but the task
itself can be very difficult.
Is Paintless Dent Removal covered by insurance?
Yes.
PDR is the most preferred method of repairing hail damage vehicles and
minor dents by major insurance companies around the world. PDR saves
insurance companies from high body shop charges and car rentals
charges. Most of our dent repair costs less then your insurance deductible.
What are the advantages of PDR?
-The
number one advantage is be able to keep your car's original paint for
appearance and higher resale value.
- It is the
closest you can get to the dent never happened in the first place.
- No painting required therefore no worries of paint fading over time
and no risk of paint mismatch.
- Low cost and fast. No big repair bills to deal with, have your car
back in a couple of hours or less.
How much does
it cost?
Depending on how deep the dent is, where dent is located and the
difficulties to gain access to dent.
An average repair cost is between $75 - $150 and it is usually 80% less
then a body shop. If you have multiple dents and dings, they can be removed for a very little extra. Large
damages, creases and hail damage should
first be seen in order
to reach a final price.
Will my dent be 100% gone?
Minor dents and dings, yes. The deeper the dent, the more difficult
it is to repair. Our customers are amazed after PDR was
performed on
their car. They can not tell where the dent was after we are done, even
on larger dents.
Can any dent be repaired?
No, The most important factors in determining if a dent can be repaired
by PDR are depth and location. Dents the
size of a basketball can be successfully repaired as long as
they are not too deep. On the other hand, very small size dents
that are too deep cannot be removed using PDR. About 5% of dents
can not be repaired due to their locations, such as dents on very edge
of panels with
double folding metal
and
heavily braced areas.
Will
my paint be damaged?
No, the
factory paints on today's vehicles are very durable. If performed
properly by a qualified technician, the paint will not be damage in any
way. PDR is the
only way to repair a dent and still
keep your factory paint.
What if the paint is cracked or
chipped?
Some dents may have scuff marks left behind from another vehicle at the
time of impact. In
most cases
these
can be buffed or rubbed away after we are done repairing the dent. If
paint is chipped, cracked or scraped, repainting or touch up is needed
to prevent rust from forming. We can apply the touch up for you if you
provide the paint, we can also refer you to a
trusted, quality body shop if needed.
